Ag One Foundation
Ronald R. Samuel Endowed Scholarship
Ron Samuel, proud agricultural business alum, alpha gamma rho (AGR) brother, and previous Ag One board member created a permanent fund to support students pursuing a degree in agricultural business at Fresno State in 2023. His passion for Fresno State is evident and his love for agriculture spans the decades. Ron was raised in Los Banos where his father managed tens of thousands of range cattle for Wolfsen Land and Cattle. His experience on the ranch led him to pursue animal science until he was exposed to business as a student of Dr. John Hagen, the founder of the agricultural business program at Fresno State. Ron graduated in 1976 with an agricultural business degree, and with the connection of an AGR brother, headed straight into the produce arena where he honed his skills and expertise in sales and marketing for the next 24 years. In 2000, he switched careers to financial planning where he still works today. Ron says, “My roots were in agriculture so I’ve always felt comfortable there, and even today, I love talking to clients that are involved in it. I speak their language, and I feel a commonality. Ag people are hard-working, honest, trustworthy and steady. They’re a special group of people.” Ron served six years on the Ag One Foundation board and he can be seen at all of the AGR alumni events. He’s as involved as they come. Thank you Ron for your support of Fresno State and the Jordan College.
